If you attempt to resist, they will use the weapons of morality and ethics to coerce you until you firmly stand with them, accepting your fate as a poor person. To be poor together, because, how difficult is it for a poor person to escape their predicament? Apart from constantly overcoming thoughts of resignation, what's even more crucial is severing the "invisible umbilical cord" that's attached to them. It appears to provide nourishment but is, in reality, an infusion of negative spiritual energy.
