Juice

Manju and Brijesh are hosting a get-together at their house. As families walk in, wives join Manju in the kitchen and husbands join Brijesh in drinks, laughter, and chatter. The wives sweat away without even a fan while preparing a dinner for everybody. This film intricately describes the household situation that is unfortunately prevalent where from girlhood, women are taught to serve and suffer and men to be served and laid-back. [spoiler] Brijesh can be heard continuously complaining about the kids bothering them in the living room, the food not being ready and so on, whereas Manju's simple request to get the mini-fan in the kitchen fixed was pretty much unheard and forgotten immediately. [/spoiler] [spoiler] The wives discuss their family and work lives in the boiling kitchen, highlighting the hypocrisy displayed by their husbands. When Manju sees that even her servant has the dignity to walk away from the slightest discrimination, she gets herself a glass of juice and decides that she is done being trampled on. [/spoiler]
