A must see for Christmas. It accurately tells the same story as the Jim Carrey movie but in just a half hour. The movie drags out the story too much while being too goofy and over-acted by Carrey.

A story not all that unique; the true meaning of Christmas & the invasiveness of commercialism. What makes this TV special unique is the ability to tell this cohesive story through rhyme and whimsical narration from Boris Karloff, limited yet still rhyming dialogue by the main character (also from Karloff), and a couple of earworm songs wrapped in under 30 minutes. That was the magic of Dr. Seuss, and for Chuck Jones to encapsulate that fast-paced story here was a testament to his talent as an animator and visionary. You can read the book, and you may watch any version you want, but this special deserves its place at the front of the line. >He puzzled and puzzed till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. Maybe Christmas, he thought... doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas, perhaps... means a little bit more!

The animated classic Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! is a masterpiece that captures the true spirit of the season. In this beloved tale the Grinch, a mean and curmudgeonly miser, attempts to stop Christmas from coming to Whoville by stealing all of their presents and holiday decorations. Boris Karloff gives voice to the Grinch and narrates, delivering a seminal performance that has immortalized the character. And the animation is outstanding, delivering a creative and imaginative world that’s colorful and dynamic. Additionally, the music is whimsical; delivering such classics as “You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch.” Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! is a fun-filled holiday feature that’s festive and heartwarming.

[8.2/10] I don’t know if Chuck Jones and Dr. Seuss had any other collaborations, but they were made for one another. Jones has such an expressive style that dovetails so beautifully with Seuss’s imaginative worlds and off-kilter designs. That’s particularly true for The Grinch himself, who is More
