An entertaining look at Alfred Hitchcock and the making of Psycho. Although since the HBO movie the Girl was released the same year. We don't know which version captured Hitchcock himself more.
Here he loves his wife and would never cheat despite liking his blondes. She was important to him according to this film. Since the Girl about the making of the Birds, takes Tippi Hedren word on that Hitchock was a creep and stalker.
While his wife was pretty much portrayed as not caring about his actions in the Girl. The wife in this film definitely doesn't take any crap. So who knows which version is more true.
I definitely didn't like the Girl as much though. Since that film seems a bit more about discrediting him. I didn't think they showed the process of making the Birds enough.
In Hitchcock we got insight on the making of Psycho. Hitchcock has a strange obsession with a man who slept his mom's dead body. Which I think is what Psycho the book was based off.
We also get Hitchcock's fear that it's his wife who would cheat on him. As a fan of Psycho and the Bate's motel house itself. I do think some more scenes of the film being made could been used.
The hassle he went through with Paramount to get the film made, were insightful though.
