_Greta_ is a familiar friend who comes to visit, and though she hasn't changed a bit, her outfit is new and stylish. I consider _Greta_ to be a tribute to the stalker films of the late 80s / early 90s (_Fatal Attraction_, _The Hand that Rocks the Cradle_, _Single White Female_) with all of the WTFs removed. Neil Jordan (_The Crying Game_) delivers a solid thriller that you'll like if you remember it's meant to be suspense and not horror.

The beginnings a little clunky but it soon descends into a juicy psycho-thriller, reminiscent of those stalker movies that were prevalent in the 90's. Huppert is chillingly brilliant, closely matched by Moretz's put-upon girl in peril.

Isabelle Huppert and Chloë Grace Moretz are both great but the movie is kind of a drag. A few too many eye roll moments. The third act is interesting enough but doesn't make up for the first two acts.

The acting was good, and I love the premise of the story. However, after a good build up to the third act, it completely fell apart for me. Characters go from being realistic to just stupid. If you want a good thriller that leaves you satisfied, skip this one.

Every year, there are a couple of underrated and/or overlooked movies. Greta is 2019’s first film to belong to both categories. It was definitely overlooked since Hellboy stole the spotlight, and it’s also underrated based More

Insubstantial and forgettable, but Huppert makes it moderately entertaining

Written by Ray Wright (Pulse; Case 39) and Neil Jordan, and directed by Jordan (The Company of Wolves; The Crying Game; Interview with the Vampire; Michael Collins), this is schlocky B-movie territory through-and-through, w More

Decent enough thriller but not especially memorable, though both Isabelle Huppert and Chloe Grace Moretz turned in fine performances. It's probably fine as a rental.
