The first mess 20th Century Fox got the boys into! After leaving Hal Roach studios, L&H signed a contract with Fox, and it was to their detriment. With no creative control, they were shoehorned into a series of movies where their talents were wasted. You can clearly see this on screen - compare the comic timing of something like Way Out West with Great Guns - and you can see the steep drop in quality. Worse was yet to come, with the comic pairings enthusiasm for the roles they were given fading with each poor film they starred in.

That wasn’t a bad one from the boys, first time seeing it and didn’t fail to make me laugh but it did lack them a little, took them out of the spotlight.
