Me

_Goliath_ shows how badly we need to find a way to monetize caring about each other.

_Goliath_ is like a car you need to push to get started: you need determination and fortitude to make it through the beginning, but once things get rolling, it's a pretty nice ride.

It's the story of a carcinogenic pesticide told from the point of view of the driven lawyer, the farm woman whose husband had cancer and the lobbyist who makes sure neither of them have a voice.

Pierre Ninney as the lobbyist is unhealthily handsome and scary good as the soulless demon with the silver tongue.

Gilles Lelouche is his normal solid self as the lawyer and I was pleasantly surprised by Emmanuelle Bercot, who sometimes goes overboard with her choices, but who played the future widow with a perfect amount of restraint.

The main problem I had with with _Goliath_ was all of the evidence that gets quoted to us in reams of statistics that lace the speeches which make the film feel like a WaPo article reads. If only they'd been able to replace some of the figures with intrigue and some of the discourse with suspense.

Oh well, as it is _Goliath_ will get you there but you'll wish you'd taken a more scenic route.
