Ralph Bakshi is an interesting guy with an equally interesting catalogue of films under his belt. Nudity, gore, and social commentary is his bread and butter, and Fritz the Cat was the start of all that... Barely, considering this felt almost didn't cross the finish line due to all the lines it crossed, the frustrations of his fellow creatives, and the hatred of the guy who made the comic this was based on. The final result? Something truly unique, but also a little meandering. Yeah I weirdly don't have any strong feelings on this one. It's production history is like, twice as interesting as anything in here. The animation is pretty and the occasional insight on culture in the 70s is interesting enough, but it just as regularly finds itself getting distracted by boobs as much as the main character himself for any of it to stick for me. Its a decent watch with an interesting space in animation history, but I probably won't come back to it myself.
