Sweet Gordon, an affable English teacher in Brooklyn, has beaten the odds; a French Girl has fallen in love with him and he’s fallen even harder back. But their future is thrown into limbo when she interviews for an executive chef position in her hometown of Quebec City. To Gordon’s dismay her future boss also happens to be her former lover, a celebrity Chef with oceanic eyes and a hit TV show. Good luck Gordon.

Tired of romcoms where some mediocre dude gets to behave like an abusive child but still comes out on top after the protagonist is gaslight about being upset. Doubly annoying when it's some basic white dude up against a woman or a person of color - in this case, both. Yes, Ruby is an asshole but only because the writers are fucking lazy and the only way to cheer for Gordon is by making his "competition" horrendous. There was never one second of this movie that made me see, feel, or understand wtf she sees in him.
