Just a good ole romantic drama (with a little country music thrown in for good measure). I've discovered these are a rare find these days. Romantic comedies or dramas are so cookie cutter and trite, but this one has some soul, maybe because it is a treatment on a novel. Good acting, predictable but touching story. I give this film a 7 (good) out of 10. (Romantic Drama)

Yes, it was a sappy romance. Yes, the kid acted very not kid like. Yes, everyone was outrageously good looking. Sure, it was a romantic comedy without a lick of comedy. I still liked it. 7/10

Well, gosh darn if that little girl wasn't the cutest, most precocious thing ever! I do wish they would've dialed it back a bit with the whole grown-up little girl, though, it made her kind of cartoonish at times. But as formulaic and cliched as this movie is, it's still really well acted and pretty enjoyable. Much better than the last few Nicholas Sparks movies that have come out, that's for sure.

This movie was as cliché and sappy as I expected it to be, and that's great because that's exactly what I wanted. Sometimes you just gotta kick back and watch something with a very predictable happy ending to cleanse the soul. Also, Abby Ryder Fortson is the best thing about this. That kid is going places.
