Those signature Woo Doves is something I'll never get tired off!

Anyway this John Woo flick is still so much damn fun, fueled by his beautifully shot actions scenes, the ridiculous plot and the great performances by John Travolta and Nicolas Cage! HALLELUJAH!

Every re-watch is a joy, the only thing that could've made this one a bit more fun, is it's run time. A bit shorter would've made it a more re-watchable film in my book. But still, it's one of those classic 90's action flicks and a must watch for everyone at letterboxd.

I liked this much better when I watched this in '97. It´s interesting how your perception of a movie changes through the years.

Today I´d say it´s a mediocre movie with a weak plot and awful acting. Action is really good, though. It shows once again that principal shooting of action scenes still looks good 20 years after while CGI outdates pretty fast.

Second time I've watched this and the only thing I remembered about this was (1) the switched identities and (2) "Suck my tongue". LOL Literally, that was _all_ I could remember about this movie. Overall, I thought it was a good movie. Some of the scenes and "technology" seemed dated by today's standards (of course) but the storyline was great. I thought the boat scene was a unique twist on the tired old every-movie car chase scene. The conclusion was...mehhhhh...you kinda saw it coming but it was still (IMO) sorta sappy-sweet. Yes, it's kind of dated, but it's a great movie with two superb actors, both carrying their roles really well. I have to give the overall nod, however, to Cage; I felt like he played his character with just a bit more "believability" this time. Give Travolta a few more "villain" films (_Swordfish_ , _The Taking of Pelham 123_ , et al) and he had that crazed-lunatic psycho madman part down every bit as good as Cage. Definitely worth watching.

John Woo knows, if anybody, how to make good, stylish action. And that's exactly what this film is; good, cool, stylish action.

Intriguing concept with face swapping albeit disturbing. Plot could of been better. Was interesting to see John Travolta and Nicolas Cage in the same movie. Nicolas Cage however is a better actor playing bad guys than John Travolta in my opinion

Some of the action sequences were cool, others were to long and over the top.

Overall is was entertaining and finish.

A quality all-out action film!

'Face/Off' isn't one that'll stick out in my memory as something deep meaning, incredibly written or anything of the sort. However, as an action film it's superb. There's barely a chance to rethink what you've just seen due to the prevalent and manic nature of onscreen events. You also have fascinating performances from the two leads.

Nicolas Cage and John Travolta are awesome in this. I won't spoil the plot, but all I will say is that those two bring it to life brilliantly - it felt, at least to me, very believable; which is impressive. Across the opening portion I thought it was going to be Cage stealing the show, but as things progress Travolta really comes up big to match Cage.

Away from NC and JT, there isn't really anything to scream about cast-wise; although, I gotta give shoutouts to Mike Delfino and Gavin Harris; if you know, you know.

Nothing much more to note, to be honest. The terrific action means I'd highly recommend this.

Face/Off is a high adrenaline thriller from acclaimed director John Woo. The story follows anti-terrorist agent Sean Archer who's surgically altered to go undercover as terrorist leader Castor Troy, but the op goes wrong when Troy is able to assume Archer's identity. John Travolta and Nicolas Cage lead the cast and bring a lot of charisma to the film. And whatever one thinks of John Woo, he knows how to shoot action. The story has a few failings, but the action is riveting and intense. As popcorn action movies go, Face/Off is an entertaining, nonstop thrill ride.

Sure - the plot is full of holes, the acting is a bit cringe at times - but if you come into this expecting a fun 90's action film with some cool concepts and practice your suspension of disbelief skills, you'll have a good time.

I am going to give the most honest review of Face/Off and in my honest opinion this film is one of those perfect 90s action films, you have the cheesy action, story and actors that makes it so special in eyes and heart. John Woo and the team knew what they were going for here as they wanted a film that has action sequences (that you can clearly see the stunt people) that are special as this has some of the best shootouts I've ever seen with some pretty interesting music choices (Somewhere Over the Rainbow was chefs kiss).

Also, both John Travolta (Sean Archer) and Nicolas Cage (Castor Troy) are just perfect at playing each other as they build the characters at the start and then both switch roles halfway through which just makes this film so special to me, yeah they overact but who cares when get to see two great actors having fun with these cheesy roles.

If you want a cheesy 90s action film that will deffo get the adrenaline going but will also give you a laugh, then look no further than Face/Off.
