Yet another rehash of the first. We're back to the same plot but the roles are reversed, the apes are now the ones being alienated by the humans (how fresh and original). Perfect opening scene, i'll give it that. I like the focus on Zira and Cornelius they're interesting characters. Zira is especially funny and I think she just became my favorite character. The conversations about the lore were the best scenes of the movie, everything else was boring to me. Just like it's predecessor, some of the weirdest most pointless character deaths i've ever seen. How could this continue for two more movies I wonder...

After they literally blew up the Earth in the previous movie you wonder were there might be room for a sequel.

[spoiler] This on starts with a surprise (that is if you hadn't seen it before) as the space ship coming back to Earth is manned by Apes. Here you have to be, once more, a bit lenient. More

Summary: After the ending of the second film, I wasn't sure how they could continue from here. But they continue and they did an amazing job. The lighthearted beginning that took a dark turn in the end with no happy ending (except Milo I guess). The new characters serve their purpose and Zira shines More

Recontexualizing Cornelius and Zira as the ultimate protagonists of the series so far is an inspired call, especially after the last film seemed to have a rather permanent end for it all. McDowall and Hunter put so much humanity into these characters and so much love in the relationship between them More
