Film 163 (Goal: 300) of 2024:

A first time viewing for me, and it's as bad as everyone says. While Daredevil, the movie where Elektra debuted, is not good, I have a soft spot for it. Elektra on the other hand, I do not.

I don't want to comment too long on this film. The fights are slow, the plot drags to nothing, the supporting cast are tired and uninteresting (don't get me started on Abby), with only Garner bringing any life to the film. Even the camera work and lighting and dull. Simply put, it's a boring film, with a forgettable antagonist. The antagonist is so boring that the henchmen are characters from the Marvel comic book universe with powers and abilities, just to try to breathe some life into this tired film. The Hand could have been a great storyline (go watch the infinitely better Daredevil NETFLIX series to see them done well) but they are non-threatening, looking like their children with NERF weapons. And lastly the score is A-grade bad.

There's little positives here, if any. Outside of maybe Garner and the mildly interesting abilities of the henchmen, nothing here really works.
