Perfect atmosphere (you can almost feel the hot), realistic dialogue (the italians are hilarious) and above all great message. Spike Lee's masterpiece.

Always wanted this to be the first Spike Lee I would watch, never expected it to hit so hard. Truly an amazing film. Never failed to entertain me for 120 minutes, at the end left me speechless. If you haven't seen this one yet, watch it! It's one of those films that everyone with a little bit of love for cinema should watch. Maybe its even one of those films everyone needs to be shown in school. I still don't know what to write about this film at the moment. Still have to let it all sink in and rewatch it next year.

A hangout movie that turns into something much more meaningful and still very relevant today. The cinematography really stood out to me. There were a lot of cool and interesting shoots.

Good movie. Important movie. It may be 33 years old but it's still relevant. You can feel the 100 degrees and the tension. It reminds me of La Haine, but I like this movie better for its more intriguing motley NY multicultural microcosm. It's of course not a very enjoyable movie. It's not meant to be. Virtually everybody is racist, everybody is yelling and - as a cold North European - I can't really relate to all those true or histrionic emotions that eventually lead to doom. Some of the characters seem to be a bit too cartoon-ish, even stereotype. But that's clearly a deliberate choice. This movie is full of brilliant characters, Which all represent certain sections of the American society. I like the fact, that almost nobody in this movie is exclusively good or bad. It were easy to depict the black community as innocent victims of brutal cops but the movie is much more complex. Needless to say, but it has a great score.

"Wake up! Wake up! Up you wake!"

I had this on my watch-list for quite a while now since I joined this site, because when it comes to movies labelled as classic are often the hardest for me to truly tackle, but with everything that's been going on recently, I thought the time is right More

In my opinion it carries a contradictory massage and broadcasts bad reputation of the black community. Moreover, I have ultimately emphatized with _Sal_ becasue of the ruin of his life's work, but obviously the creator's intention was black people are still in the late 80's (and nowadays More

[8.7/10] It’s there in the beginning and the end. It permeates the very soul of the film. The dichotomy at play. There’s the picture of Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X side-by-side turned from a running gag into a powerful statement. There’s the two men’s dueling quotes on the utility o More

_**When someone does the wrong thing and others react the wrong way**_

On a hot summer day in a predominantly black neighborhood in Brooklyn, one person makes the wrong decision and sets off a chain of events that results in havoc. Rosie Perez is a highlight on the feminine front.
