Diabolique

*Les Diaboliques*' final 10 minutes is 5-star material and has the creepiest use of a typewriter sound I've ever seen - the entire sequence was incredibly claustrophobic too, and it's what a film like this needed, a terrific ending. Everything beforehand was great and had a likeable backdrop of building dread, but is slightly lacking in anything substantial in my opinion. Honestly, the genre tag of 'horror' had me excited, but unfortunately this isn't a horror film whatsoever. It's a mysterious and psychological thriller, a great one don't get me wrong but, apart from those final 10 minutes, it's nothing scary. Loved how dialogue-heavy this was, something we don't normally get or focus on in a thriller, but the ending is what will truly shake your skull dry.
