Well that plot was a bit of an incoherent mess. The gore, sfx, and acting were all very good! But I'm still not sure what the plot exactly was.

The true crime doc that is interspersed with the movie is so useless that if it were cut out completely it would barely affect the plot. I think it could have been an okay plot device if it had actually added anything.

Overall, I really didn't understand the point of what the villains were doing.
Why did witches want to get the woman elected? What could she accomplish as governor that would be useful to their vague goals of... improving society or something? How did transforming the granddaughter into a monster- that gives war visions(?)- help the soon-to-be-governor (or the witches)? What was with the baby scene at the beginning and how did it have any relevance to the later murder spree? What is "the rock" and why is it helping the witches in their goal of... doing stuff? Why didn't the witch just bring her granddaughter to the cabin and have the woman feed her the pulsing thing to get the future war information? Why was killing the family necessary or _in any way useful_ to their goals?
I spent most of the movie going "Why!?! Wait, what? Nice sfx!" By the last 20 min or so, the viewer is pretty much worn down to "sure why not, that looked cool at least" when anything happens. So if you want to watch some random mayhem, and let go of understanding, it's not the worst way to spend an evening.
