Started off really promising, but the nonsensical actions the characters (mainly Ethan) make is just absurd and takes down the movies quality drastically very quickly.
At every turn the characters actions insult the viewers intelligence, every time the character has a chance to do something to stop the bomb, he manages to screw up. I could ignore some of the smaller things here and there, but major shit just happens and he just makes it worse with every opportunity. For example the briefcase, did I just not get it? Why was it implied he was going to switch out the bag with the bomb, only for him to mark it for the cargo, why not just switch it out completely and leave the bomb at the airport instead of letting it on the flight even if it was in the cargo. I get he had the tracking on it, but even then it was a stupid decision, if he could have just taken out the gas cannisters like he does on the plane why not just do that and hide or run away with them? Why did he just let his boss die? He could have at least tried to shoot the Mateo guy which he thought was a part of the crime group and gesture to his boss to be quiet and disarm the bomb, yes it wasn't certain that it would work this way, but way better to just let the dude get stabbed or better yet, why didn't he just shoot the fucking traveler guy in the bathroom and then run for the package and isolate it and start evacuating. His death is literally never mentioned in the movie again, innocent dude just dies because of him and it's shrugged off because the hero saves his girl, also that other "spotify wannabe musician" guy, he just gets stabbed presumably with the same poison they used on the first cop that they killed, fantastic writing right here, but the hero gets to go on a vacation so it's all good. Also why did the hacker van guy even still go after the girlfriend when the main "traveler" got the package on and was headed for the plane, why not just call off the stupid attack, if she died than there would be no reason for Ethan not to call out the bomb right away resulting in the flight being grounded? Earlier in the movie his girlfriend stopping directly in front of the window for the sniper to mark her, why not just drag her out of the trajectory, if they shoot just a single shot then the whole airport would be once again completely shut down, they didn't really think this shit through at all, and he goes out on the parking lot chasing her down for what? There is literally nothing in it for them just problems, also the dude in the van somehow freed himself and saves the couple because why not.

And then there is the stupidest fucking detective lady over there showing her complete incompetence from the first scene we see her in where she almost crashes into a police car at a fucking CRIME SCENE because she is on her phone. This just gets worse with every scene she is in. She just pulls out a fucking gun on the fake homeland guy driving?? and then the idiot starts causing cars to crash every fucking second on the highway? what was his plan? Then she somehow has the authority to just tell people what plane can and can't take off? what? Why is she able to just tell them what the fuck they should do if they know there is a REAL THREAT at the airport.
Everything in this movie just frustrates me so much, because it pretends like the group is full of professionals making it out as if the movie is gonna be very tense and less action focused, but then it turns into this sloppy action garbage with no sense behind it. So sad this is the final product as it had a great premise. I spent more time writing this shit then they spent on the script.

@praythea I think you missed some things.
Hero was doing hero things.. there is some needed suspension of disbelief. But you could follow the thought process. He didn't kill the traveller because his girlfriend was still in danger and he didn't know how to defuse the bomb. The soundcloud guy also wasn't killed. He got stabbed by a normal knife and was seen alive later on a stretcher. His "vacation" happened after his child was born, so at least a year later. He already was a cop then, so he must have gone through training as well. How did you miss all this?

Hacker went out because he was ordered to and tried to kill her out of sight. The traveller was just an "evil dude".
There was a scene where the husband was working on his restraints earlier in the movie, so him getting himself free was already set up.
etc. etc.

If you'd paid more attention, you might even have enjoyed it 😅

@grawlixx
"He didn't kill the traveller because his girlfriend was still in danger" by whom exactly? If he had killed the traveler, who would give the go ahead to kill the girlfriend. "he didn't know how to defuse the bomb" like I said, he could have at least tried to evacuate it, for all he knew it could have just been a way for the Traveler not to be shot and get Ethan to leave him. "soundcloud guy wasn't killed" I could not have cared less if he was on a stretcher or not later on, still makes no sense the dude just did that in the open airport and still went after the girlfriend, I like how you completely ignored that part of my comment and the fact if they attacked her in the open, the airport would once again be shutdown entirely. "He already was a cop then, so he must have gone through training as well. How did you miss all this?" What are you talking about, what does training have to do with this? like I said the Dean Norris character got killed and it was never spoken about at all after that. "Hacker went out because he was ordered to and tried to kill her out of sight. The traveller was just an "evil dude"." very easy to say stupid shit like this to justify plot holes "oh he was just evil so it's okay to risk your freedom (and life like he did) to kill a random girl that is not needed for the mission anymore (which was the entire fucking plot of the movie, do the job and then to leave and avoid being caught)". "husband was working on his restraints" only goes to show how brilliantly stupid the hacker "genius" was. Why not just kill the husband? what was he needed for after the Mateo guy died?
If YOU'd paid more attention, you might even have realized the stupidity of the actions performed by the characters, but sure go on ahead and enjoy another hollywood slop that was written for only one reason which was a paycheck. 😅

@praythea Alright. I'm not sure why you would go into a Netflix movie with expectations of a "not-for-profit" artsy movie with a mind-blowing storyline.

By that standard the movie failed, for sure.

The killer has a (unrealistic) phone which can detect the distance and the position of the bomb. He has to let him take the bomb, otherwise he will not stop looking for it. It was clearly indicated in the movie when the killer used his phone to look for Ethan. Ethan switched for larger suitcase so he knew the killer couldn’t put it in cabin, and had to check it so he would have opportunity to disable it!

It was like you were in my mind during the movie while I shouted at the tv. Also how exactly does the earpiece work? It has incredible range. And the fact when Mateo and Ethan were in the sorting area they could have pretended to fight etc as there were no eyes on them at that time! It was entertaining but non sensical.

@davidzfr It seemed like he had a tracker on the bomb (which is fine) I presume it's not in the gas cartridge itself but rather in the frame of the bomb since it started beeping right as he put the phone to the very edge of the case, so like I said he could have just taken out the gas cartridge like he does later in the movie without issues.

@praythea I honestly shut my brain off going into these movies... Or I just skip them if I can't.

The end scene where
Ethan threw the nerve gas into the air tight container with the traveler was another one. You can clearly hear the traveler yelling out Ethan, but if it was air tight, sound would not be able to travel out of that container. So if we heard him that would mean the seal wasn't airtight and everyone in the airport should be dead
. That was more of an attention to details error than a plot hole, but it brings the quality of a film down for me.

@chewy74 Sound can make the glass door vibrate, which in turn vibrates the air in front of it, making the sound muffled, but audible. Sound travels through more than just air. It can be blocked by vacuum and solid mass.
