"Rimini" portrays a faded Austrian crooner relocated to Italy, where he drowns his sorrows in alcohol and prostitutes himself to his aging groupies. The film has no plot, instead painting a gritty picture of the desolation and resignation that accompany the decline of one's glory days. A cold and foggy Rimini, with its deserted beaches and empty bars, works as a perfect backdrop for the story. Although comparisons to "The Wrestler" may arise, it is important to note that "Rimini" is deliberately devoid of genuine emotions or prospects of redemption, mostly alienating its audience instead of entertaining.

It manages to show the squalor and dinginess of Rimini and the main characters in it. It does not manage to keep the audience awake and engaged with the drama unfortunately, as the film perhaps has a wrong pace.
