Two Egyptologists, Professor Fuchs and Corbeck, are instrumental in unleashing unmitigated horror by bringing back to England the mummified body of Tara, the Egyptian Queen of Darkness. Fuchs’s daughter becomes involved in a series of macabre and terrifying incidents, powerless against the forces of darkness, directed by Corbeck, that are taking possession of her body and soul to fulfill the ancient prophesy that Queen Tara will be resurrected to continue her reign of unspeakable evil.

I love Hammer horror movies, but this is not a good one. Aside from Valerie Leon's double Ds, barely contained under her clothing, BftMT has nothing to offer. There is no tension, there is no antagonist, we only have Tara - who we are told is evil; what makes her evil? who knows?! we never get to see her do anything. The acting is okay, what one would expect from a horror movie of that era. The lighting, sets, and costumes are the highlight. With better writing, and a director who could tell a story, it would actually be good.
