They hijavked our war. Who you might ask? No single person in particular, not even the Director, Steve McQueen. Not a race of people or a culture. So who? The ultra left wing woke narrative plaguing our world today that influences this and many other woke films of the 2020s.

I thought this was a film about the Blitz, the title gives it away. Then after the first act I thought the subplot was maybe a boys journey back to his mum in London.

But no, the war was not the main plot, the boy's adventure wasn't either.

I'm very sad to say this is another film about racism with a backdrop of the war. I'm even sadder to say that two of my favourite actors, Stephen Graham and Saoirse Ronan, star in the film. At the same time, they're the only reason this film survives.

There's one scene that sums it up and I'd be amazed if IMDB allows me to post this. In a shelter, a Sikh, an African and a Jew get into an altercation with a racist cockney and it all feels like someone's agenda: forced and preachy.

I can guarantee you this,, this film won't stand the test of time.

Can we have our British War history back Mr McQueen
