Curse Emma Stone and her sex scenes, making me watch bad movies.

Pretentious bullshit that loses its own thread and leaves you with a disjointed and, in the end, just plain boring mess. The shock value from absurd twists and turns dressed up with violent, hyper sexualized, and gross coverings don't make up for the empty shell of content underneath. It isn't meaningful allegory. It isn't deep. It's intellectual vomit disguised as something important or, even worse, something clever, and I want 3 hours of my life back. I'm not a huge fan of Lanthimos, but I at least found value in his other works. This just felt like the weird kid in high school where people assume they're intellectual because they're really weird, when in reality they're just spewing nonsense and hoping no one notices the disconnect isn't because they're smarter or deeper than you.

Yorgos Lanthimos is a very strange storyteller. I often love the ideas behind his work and the cinematic elements, but the plot points themselves are Greek to me.

Loved Poor Things so watching this was a no brainer. So much going on, and I'm still thinking about it hours later. I'm going to have to watch it again.

Maybe I’m just not a Lonthimos person. First segment I was kind of vibing with. It had the most DaFoe, the actor most keyed in to Lonthimos’ energy. And Plemmons was at his best there, because it was like he was being molded and forced into Raymond’s- and by extension Lonthimos’- ideas of ho More

A movie about selflessness.

As soon as I saw the poster for this was the sigil of Lucifer I assumed there would be some esoteric stuff in here and there's not only that but all three stories are centered around subject matter in the 'conspiracy' world (I hate that word but everybody knows what I'm More

Quite the thing! I really enjoyed 'Kinds of Kindness'.

I'm also someone who loved 'Poor Things' from these folk, so I guess me also liking this isn't any sort of surprise. It is a truly bizarre movie and I can see many disliking it, a thought supported by the fact that in a cinema with around 10 More

I’m going to say up front that this is a film I’m probably going to be processing for quite some time. The latest offering from writer-director Yorgos Lanthimos – best known for films like “The Lobster” (2015), “The Favourite” (2018) and “Poor Things” (2023) – is as much a puzzle More
