Was excited for this one and charmed in the beginning but it goes nowhere and has nothing to say. I wanted better for my body modded girlies. This is the story of movie that presumes a type of feminism and/or critique of patriarchy and rape culture but just ends up being male gaze-y and depressing. We never know what Mary wants or how she is internally, but we have MULTIPLE scenes of the disgusting club managers fantasies about her ::eye roll:: If I'm going to have to see this much sexual and physical violence against women, the movie better have a perspective and a point. This did not.

I was told this was grotesque and horrific to watch and sure, in places, the gore is OK, but I spent most of the film wondering when I was going to get the real splatter fest and it just never came. Nothing really fresh about it and for a plot with a rape revenge story, seemed to be a lot more lady on show than was maybe needed.

delightful if you love body horror, probably a lot less so if you don't. it isn't a serious horror, but it suits itself just fine.

i love love love katherine isabelle so maybe i'm a bit biased regarding this movie. but i genuinely liked it. i didn't really know what to expect from the movie because i hadn't watched a trailer beforehand, i just watched it because of her. and i was pleasantly surprised.
