Holy shit, what a wild ride. Who allowed you to be this funny?

"All Cheerleaders Die" is a film that really manages to walk a fine line between trashy B-horror and a genuinely well-thought-out movie. It’s actually a remake of the directors’ earlier version from 2001, so you can tell they had the opportunity to refine things here and there.

While some of the effects aren’t particularly impressive and the reliance on certain clichés does get a bit tiresome after a while, the film still gets so many things right. The blend of supernatural horror and dark humor works surprisingly well. I found myself smiling all the time, often unexpected. The writing relies on abstraction without losing its narrative power, keeping you entertained throughout.

The actresses give performances that balance between satire and sincerity. I was genuinely surprised at how often the film caught me off guard with its twists. It keeps surprising you, and just when you think they did everything imaginable, it delivers a plot twist or another joke that is equally absurd but goes beyond what you think a film of this caliber can do.

Having said that, not everyone is going to like this movie. It may not be your jam if you like horror comedies campy and perfectly blended, mixed with some absurdity. However, if you liked the vibes of Jennifer's Body or The Craft… then this one is definitely for you. It operated in the same ballpark of dark humor, supernatural absurdity, and high school soap opera themes, and it did so with an enigmatic edge that just makes the show irresistible.

I for sure loved it and immediately bought the Blu-ray for another rewatch at some point. Also, I really hope there will be a sequel!
