A Christmas Carol

Jim Carrey does a good Scrooge but him doing all the ghosts is a little much. His face on the ghost of Christmas past was a little distracting. Overall the movie is so-so, I'm not a huge fan of the Charles Dickens story though.

How this movie has low ratings i do not understand. If you don't like charles dickens story then its not for you and you aren't giving it a fair rating. Other adaptations hold back on the darker tones but this one does not. It is darker and more unsettling than other versions which is more in line with the book. The animation is of course a little dated now but to be perfectly honest this one is hands down my favorite above all the rest. When it came out I was like "Oh great ANOTHER version we don't need" but I was quickly put in my place. Jim does a great job working with a new and strange/ ever evolving technology of the time. I honestly would have loved this if it were LA as well. I'm willing to bet they made it animated so the darker content wasn't too scary for kids. A MUST for anyones christmas rotation!!!!!!
