They don't teach this outside the USA and the UK, so for me, it's educational and very entertaining. Which not all historical films can claim (Spielberg's Lincoln is boring af)

I may be a day (actually almost two days) late and a dollar short, but I made it a point to watch this movie, on this July 4th weekend. For it's historical inaccuracies it is still one of the most poignant yet witty tellings of the creation of the Deceleration of Independence. I urge you to make time for it, it is certainly well worth it. The cast is wonderful, the musical may not be memorable but is great in it's own right, and the comedy is neither crass nor boring. It's certainly an under-rated musical and a must see for families especially around this time of year, as it helps remind us of the principles this great nation was founded upon.

This is one of my favorite musicals of all time. I love the story and the songs. It is moving, funny, inspiring, dramatic and beautiful (if somewhat historically inaccurate). It's actually a great way to learn the story of the writing of the Declaration of Independence and all the characters More
